Hi, my name is Daniel Elizalde. Welcome to TechProductManagement!
Product Management for the Internet of Things (IoT) is my passion and area of expertise. I have experience managing IoT product portfolios and the complete lifecycle of end-to-end IoT solutions, including hardware, embedded software, cloud platforms, and user applications.
I have a solid combination of technology, business, and soft skills developed over 17+ years of experience as a product leader, consultant, and software engineer. Product management is where I bring all those skills together toward a common goal: creating and managing IoT products that solve a real customer need.
My diverse background includes working at Fortune 500 companies and growth-stage start-ups, as well as product companies and services companies.
I also teach the course “Product Management for the Internet of Things” at Stanford Continuing Studies. The course is attended by IoT Product Managers from leading Silicon Valley companies, and I was thrilled to learn that it has the highest demand of any course in Stanford Continuing Studies’ history.
Outside technology, I’m a man of many interests. I love juggling, tennis, drumming, salsa dancing and race car driving. But most of all, I love my friends, my family, and my beautiful wife Megan. Without them, none of this would be worth doing.

About TechProductManagement
There’s a lot of buzz around what IoT is, but not a lot of real-world information on how to manage this complex product stack.
I created TechProductManagment.com with the goal of demystifying IoT and providing a real-world guide to Product Managers wanting to build IoT products at scale.
TechProductManagement is my way of sharing my IoT experience and contributing to the growth of both IoT and the Product Management profession. I hope you find it useful in the development of your IoT solutions!
As an intro to my IoT philosophy, check out my post Internet of Things: A Primer for Product Managers.
